I’m not an expert on that; I would guess the answer is yes, but not necessarily very convincing as 2+1 quantum gravity with point sources is essentially a TQFT 

is completely integrable.  There is a paper by Oriti a few years back using Group Field Theory where its claimed that they can see the holography principle 

in their approach. S
