Wow I didn't notice you had toured with GEE - you probably mentioned
that before. And your grandfather sounds like he had an amazing life
indeed. Biology adventurer-scientist! Yes the "colonies" of the West -
when I helped dismantle a barn this summer - my farm friend pointed out
how that area had been transformed. He wants to rebuild this old barn
piece by piece (well we didn't really document each piece, except the
beams). Anyway yes each farm was self-sufficient. This barn was the
FIRST in the area to get a radio!! haha. So it held the village dances
or whatever - for the area farms.
NOW the area is literally a
Monsanto-Cargill wasteland. Sure the nearby farm still spread manure
from his cattle - but otherwise it's just thick GE-herbicide corn and
the water is not drinkable. (heavy chlorine but still nitrate problems).
Yes - the West - that book "Ecological Imperialism" by prof. Alfred
Crosby - great overview of the last 500 years of how we spread around
the world our cattle intensive farming culture - that is really from the
Yamnaya but just got intensified. It "spread" into Europe and took over
Europe back in 3000 BCE!! So yes I spent my life reading - like Chris
Hedges is basically a Chomsky Knock-off.
So I did correspond with
Chomsky - about how activists don't READ. I spent a couple years JUST
reading Chomsky (when I was not working full time). But that was pretty
transformative - his books are really intense but take a lot of
concentration. I was not distracted at all - when I read - no cell phone
- just alone in cafes. My book "At War With Asia" - disappeared on me -
when I was in an "evangelical" cafe - one of this "missionary" free
coffee drop in centers to convert us heathen university students. haha. I
was suspicious my book was stolen. So I emailed Chomsky! Anyway - I
recommend that book and also "Year 501: The Conquest Continues!" - that
was 1994 - so 1993 publication. His book "Political Economy of Human
Rights: vols 1 and 2" - and his book "World Orders: Old and New" - but
when I did my master's thesis, I was considering Chomsky in light of
"radical ecology" - the subtitle of my master's thesis.
So I'm glad to
see Chomsky realizing that global warming (and nuclear) are the two
immediate threats and we are like lemmings going over a cliff. OK - now
consider - I realized this truth back in the early 90s - 95 I think or
94. So then I realized the problem was much deeper than just "politics" -
it is a Psycho-Physiological Problem!! It is a deep "ontological"
philosophy problem! chris Hedges - for all his war reporting - and
teaching prisoners - is not ready to go there! What does he KNOW about
the modern biological humans - for our first 90% of our biological
history! The San Bushmen culture spread around the world. We are simply
looking at the TIP of the Iceberg - the last 10% of modern biological
humans.
We are saying - WOW humans destroyed the biosphere! (Yeah ONLY
if you IGNORE the first 90% of our biological history.) In our
"information" age - this is quite astounding! People just "don't have
the time" - I guess nor "the interest" to STUDY this culture that still
exists. Only Dr. Bradford Keeney has been accepted as a healer in their
culture that was completely focused on spiritual HEALING. The empirical
facts are not conceivable (they didn't even KNOW what homosexuality
was!!) EGADS!! "equality" was not their principle - their principle was
COMPLementary opposites! A good book on this for Australia is that book -
what's it called? 7 years of separation between women and men. I will
look up the title..

The Spiritual Role of Gender in the World's Oldest Culture By (author) Hannah Rachel Bell
Oh my views are not much worth respecting but regarding full lotus - I
will refer to some prominent qigong masters. Taoist master Wang Liping
states that ONLY the full lotus can really open up the lower back nerve
channels. Qigong master chunyi lin says if you want to see if someone is
a real master then just see how long they can sit in full lotus in ease
without moving. Master Nan, Huai-chin, considered a great Ch'an
teacher, said that the full lotus was necessary to demonstrate that the
energy channels are open. So the problem is that as Westerners we are
hard-wired (since Plato) to think the mind is more important than the
body - and so Master Nan, huai-chin points out that even in Japan the
Zen meditation became too conceptual. Master Nan, Huai-chin chastises
his students for thinking too much and then states how many of you can
even sit in full lotus for ONE DAY nonstop? And that one week of nonstop
full lotus is at least a minimum for real samadhi. When Nirvikalpi
Samadhi kicks in then full lotus becomes comfortable as the body has
filled with qi energy - and the bones become pliable - even the top of
the skull pulsates with qi energy, like a baby, the skull fontanelle
opens up. When Poonjaji went to Europe he said the big problem with the
West is that it lacks yoga training.
